This is just a quick note, as I have to get to work. But I didn't want another day to go by before I let you know my results for the GW Parkway Classic 10-Miler this past Sunday.
Bad news: I missed my goal time by 3 minutes, 48 seconds. I started off too fast - my first mile was 7:16, almost 45 seconds faster than I planned - and I blew up at Mile 7.5.
Good news: I still PR'ed by almost 8 minutes!
Here's me coming toward the finish line (photo credit: Jeanne). More later.
Way to PR!
ReplyDeleteI know about that going out too fast stuff. I do it every time I race. But it's all about the PR and you did it!
Congrats on the PR. I did the same at my last race....way to fast, I checked myself too much and ended up doing my slowest 1st mile in 5k in about a year.
ReplyDeleteSpeedy picture!

ReplyDeleteWonder Woman!
WOW!! congrats on the 8 minute PR - and a FAST finish!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the PR, Bex!!
ReplyDeleteMissed your goal but PR'd anyway? The best goal I ever have is to beat my PR by 1 second. Sounds like you totally SMASHED that PR!
you were AWESOME! (but that's some crappy photographer you got there.)
ReplyDelete:)
Good job on your PR! I stopped by to see if you were going to run the Big Sur Marathon. It doesn't look like it. I'm so-o jealous of your Hawaiian vacation. Good luck with your new job.
ReplyDeleteAll those tropical drinks and subsequent southern Cal sun must have done the trick. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteby 8 minutes!!!!?
ReplyDeleteu freakin' rock.
