White House Salaries

Hola, amigos. I've got only a few minutes left for lunch, but I thought I'd post something quickly: The White House salary list. It got leaked to the Washington Post (you gotta register, but it's free), which also published a corresponding column about the list.

Now you too can see how your pay stacks up against a White House "gift analyst" ($49,479), the "Special Assistant to the Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs" ($42,000), the "Assistant to the President and Press Secretary" ($157,000) and, the lowest-paid , a "correspondence analyst" ($23,621).

The nitty gritty: Topping the list, along with Press Secretary Scott McClellan, are folks such as National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice and Senior Advisor Karl Rove, all of whom are paid $157,000 each.

Our fair president, by the way, pulls in $400,000 a year.

Average annual pay in the White House: $67,075.
Average annual pay for metropolitan Washington: $48,420.
Average annual national pay: $37,764.

So, how much are you worth?!

  1. Those are very interesting figures. The correspondence analyst probably makes more than I do - LOL! Well, not for long. Once I transfer within the company to something that pays better than retail, I hope to make that kind of money.

So Dubya only makes $400,000 a year, eh? Seems kind of low for someone in his position. At least that's my opinion. :-)
