I'm leaving on a jet plane in 7 hours to Lake Tahoe, California. I'm still packing and doing laundry. Ten days of hiking, boating, swimming, tennis and lying around like slothlike on the deck, reading Carl Hiaasen novels.
I won't have to worry about muggings there. Plague-ridden squirrels, yes. Marin County snobs, yes. But no gun-toting scumbags.
