Holiday madness

Hey y'all. I got back to Washington early Sunday morning, and I've been on the go ever since. Some new developments happened for a story I had already filed, so I've been trying to get hold of sources in Idaho, Virginia, and California all day, with no such luck, though a source in North Carolina did call me back (hooray).

Because of little time, I logged only a 3-mile tempo run yesterday, though I also did killer free weights/cardio workouts on Monday and Wednesday. Otherwise, not much else on the fitness front. Tomorrow I'm supposed to do a much-belated long, slow run, but it's not going to happen because of work and holiday commitments.

But Friday's looking free and clear for that. 11 miles, here I come.

Oh, I may also get my dog before the New Year. My SO and I found a very sweet and energetic two-year old chocolate Lab mix at the Washington, D.C. Animal Welfare Rescue League, and I think the adoption counselor is willing to part with him. She ixnayed us on two other dogs, saying that they needed more experienced owners.

Geez.

  1. Geez is right! What? They want to hold those dogs forever? You know, the ASPCA doesn't care who you are, as long as you are nice to the dog. After they finally say yes, tell them you changed your mind because they didn't seem experienced enough to give you a dog.

  2. Hi Bex!
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to California. I'd love to visit there soon. I love Vegas but I'm getting homesick!

I hope you and your SO get the dog. Maybe I should get a pet sometime in the future.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! :-)
