E. is leaving this morning on the first leg of our cross-country road trip. Before he does, he still has to pack(!), meet with a client, go to the bank, and do a few other chores. Sigh. He was going to wash the dog and change the oil in the car too, but I dissuaded him from doing so until Thursday (the car doesn't really need another oil change for another 2,000 miles).
That's when I meet him in Fayetteville, Arkansas - I'm flying there that morning (have to work through tomorrow). Why Northwest Arkansas, of all places? We're going hillbilly-spotting. Kidding. The Ozarks are beautiful, Fayetteville is a great little college town, and is also where I lived while in grad school at the University of Arkansas (M.A. English Lit).
Why grad school in Arkansas? Well, my dears, now there's a story ....
OMG! I didn't stop in for a few days and I missed all the drama. I'm glad things are working out for you. Have a good trip to CA.
ReplyDeleteAh, Arkansas...as a native Memphian, I have spent many a LONG hour there with my grandmother in Hot Springs.
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip, and don't drink the water!
Have a great trip, Bex! Hope you find an internet cafe (in Arkansas?) to update with pics.
