Daughter of the Golden West

Throwing a tennis ball to Nelson while my grandmother looks on. Taken yesterday, on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, CA.

Arches National Park, Utah, June 2006. It was 115 degrees in the shade. Don't know who the chubby dude is. I just included him in the photo to give you a sense of scale.

Somewhere in Colorado, off I-70, near sunset.

A week-and-a-half ago, E. and I loaded up the car with luggage, books, a computer, and the dog, and headed west on our second annual great American road trip. Hence the absence from this blog. We traveled through the midwest this time, taking a somewhat leisurely 7 days to get from Washington, D.C., to Lake Tahoe, CA.

Here are two photos from the trip, as well as one of me, my gram, and the dog at the lake. How'd I get my grandmother, who can't walk well, to Tahoe from Southern California, where she lives? That's another long story for another day.

More later ... this is just a quick note to say hullo and that I've been running ... around a highway rest stop in Missouri, through the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, up and down the sun-baked hilly main thoroughfare of Grand Junction, CO, and at above 8,500 lung-squeezing feet above sea level on the hilly trails of Lake Tahoe.

  1. Nice pics! You should've been throwing that tennis ball to "Chubby" instead of Nelson!

    Enjoy your time out west!
