More Road Trip Photos & Marathon Training

Driving west, on a lonely Kansas highway. June 2006.

Nelson standing in front of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, and on the presidential seal. Abilene, Kansas.

Nelson, waiting impatiently for us in front of the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics, Lawrence, Kansas. June, 2006.

More photos of our cross-country road trip for your viewing pleasure. It's our second to last morning here in Tahoe. We pack up tomorrow and head out around 1 pm to the Bay area to see E.'s fam for dinner. My grandmother, who is obdurate and selfish in the best of times, will be with us. It'll be the first time for her to meet E.'s relatives. Should be veddy interesting.

MCM Marathon Training: I got an email from my coach for my running club's marathon training program. I'm in a group with five or so other runners who are experienced marathoners. I'll be the newbie of the bunch, with only one 26.2 miler underneath my belt. Hmm. Also, my coach is fast: She ran the Boston Marathon this year in 3:11. Flat.

  2. I love the pics. I hope Nelson didn't show any disrespect (if you know what I mean) to the presidential seal.
Glad to hear you're running where you can.
