I didn't run the Run vs. Row 10k early this morning. I was just too damn tired from all the 15- hour workdays recently. For the first time in weeks, I slept in on a Saturday. And it felt great. I woke up at 8:30 a.m. Yep, that's sleeping in for me. Usually, I'm up before 7.
Feasting with friends: Last night, I ate tapas with my friends here. We stuffed ourselves with steamed mussels, duck confit with oranges, monkfish with garlic and tomatoes, and roast chicken, washing it all down with red sangria. Very relaxing and much needed.
Today, I indulged myself: I saw a movie downtown and shopped at H&M, a chic, cheap clothing store. I found a summery halter top, a white linen sundress with spaghetti straps, and a tailored V-neck top. I didn't try them on, as I was in a rush and the line to the fitting rooms was 12 deep.
So I paid and prayed they would fit. And you know what? Every single piece did. That's a first. I was so chuffed that I went online and looked at more spring clothing. I had visions of me enjoying the coming warm weather in cool shades, bare arms, and flirty skirts.
Doppelganger?: And I found this photo of a model who looks a lot like me (click on "larger view"). How odd. It's a bit disconcerting to see yourself staring back at you from the Nordstrom web site. My SO freaked out when he saw it. "Oh, my God," he said. "It's your lost twin sister."
Get moving: I did run tonight, by the way. A steady 4 miles. Okay, that's not much. But tomorrow is a more respectable 8-mile tempo run, then a free weights workout.
